Cricket Promotion After the latest round of matches, which included Brill conceding their match, and all other games abandoned, Chadlington have now secured promotion to Division 3. Three more points from their remaining three games will see them crowned as Champions. The next game is at Charlbury. Harding Hammers Winslow Stand-in skipper Danny Harding led from the front and scored 135 out of 201/7 when the Ist XI travelled to top of the table Winslow Town. In reply bowlers Martin Shepherd, Stephen Hunt and Richard Ingram each took three wickets as the home were bowled out for 162 as Chadlington regained top spot.
Happy Time Return for 2nd XI After a run of three defeats the 2nd XI put on a fine display when beating top of the table Sunningwell by 6wks. Sunningwell battered first and made 123. In reply Jason Chipchase (pictured) top scored with 36 with the Duester partnership of father and son Matt being at the end with an unbeaten partnership of 31.
Ist XI fall at Brill The Ist XI suffered their first defeat of the season when they travelled to Brill. The home side were bowled out for 155 with Martin Shepherd being the pick of the bowlers taking 6/49. In reply their lost wickets at regular intervals and with no batsman being able to get going theu were bowled out for 71.
Kelly Wickets in Vain Despite a fine spelling of bowling from James Kelly (6/36) the 2nd XI were unable to take the victory when entertaining Kings Sutton. Batting first Chadlington scored 137, Kelly top scored with 33. In reply Kings Sutton were reduced to 78/8 but opener Omar (92*) saw them through to victory with support by their No 10 batsman.
Bowlers in Fine Form On a sunny afternoon when the music from the Beer Festival provided the main entertainment the 1st XI maintained their winning start to the season with a 138 run win over Hailey. Batting first they scored 171. In reply the strike bowlers of Stephen Hunt, Matt Bunney and Matt Duester each took three wickets when dismissing Hailey for 33.
