Five goals, three more points (21/1)
An own goal, two goals from man-of-the-match Stephen Hunt plus goals from James Cleevely and Toby Walker gave the home side a resounding 5-0 victory when Oakley were the visitors on a cold and chilly afternoon.

Chadlington entered the match hoping to continue their recent good league form where they had secured two victories and a draw in the last three matches.

The home side, with the advantage of a strong wind quickly got into their stride and it was no surprise when they took the lead in the 14th minute albeit fortunately when the returning George Slatter pressurised the Oakley central defender into an own goal. They added a second on the half-hour when the lively Hunt lobbed the on-rushing Oakley 'keeper Durndell following a pass from Martin Plumbridge.

With half-time approaching Chadlington were awarded a free kick on the left and from Freddie Magee's delivery Cleevely headed in at the far post to give the home side a clear three goal advantage at the interval.

Despite Oakley having the advantage of the strong wind in the second half, Chadlington continued to take the game to the visitors and scored again in the 70th minute when Hunt deflected a shot from James O'Brien into the net.

The final goal came in the 88th minute when substitute Walker lashed the ball into the net following good work between Slatter and Matt North.

As the final whistle went, the crowd retired to the clubhouse trying to answer two questions - when did Chadlington last win 5-0 and when did they last keep a clean sheet. Answers on a postcard - anyway a fine victory, fully deserved and more points on the board.

Three points and welcome win at Oakley (14/1)
A solid team performance with two goals from Craig Salmon (pictured) and a first goal of the season from James Cleevely gave Chadlington a fully deserved 3-1 victory when visiting Oakley.

Chadlington started the brighter of the two teams and following good play down the right Stephen Hunt was only just wide with a rasping left-footed shot from a narrow angle. They took the lead in the 20th minute when Cleevely shot home from close range after the home 'keeper had saved from Hunt.

Salmon, playing up front in the place of the unavailable George Slatter added a second on the half-hour to give the visitors a two-nil lead at half-time.

Oakley reduced the arrears in the 50th minute when they scored from a penalty awarded to them following a heavy challenge from Kevin Mulhearn on their No 9.

As Oakley hoped to take strength from scoring it was Chadlington who grew stronger and Salmon missed a good chance to restore a two-goal advantage when shooting wide with only the goalkeeper to beat.

However, he was not to be denied a second time when faced with a similar opportunity in the 73th minute, coolly slotting the ball passed the 'keeper for his second goal of the game.

Chadlington played out the remainder of the goal with some comfort to record their second league win of the season. They will be hoping for a league double next week when Oakley make the reverse trip.

No cup joy at Marston (7/1)
A return to action for the first time in three weeks saw Chadlington travel to Oxford to play Premier League side Marston Saints in the second round of the Presidents Cup. Marston, who were the better side throughout the game, scored in the 25th minute to lead 1-0 at half-time. Three further goals in the second half gave the home side a deserved 4-0 victory.

One Point, Two Penalties, Three Goals (17/12)
For their last game before Christmas Chadlington entertained fellow strugglers Watlington - and what a game it turned out to be, six goals, missed penalties and finished with both sides sharing the points in a thrilling 3-3 draw.

Watlington started the brighter of the two teams, however it was the home side who took the lead in the 19th minute when George Slatter scored from close range. Watlington levelled in the 28th minute but Martin Plumbridge restored the home side advantage on the stroke of half-time.

The second half started with a 'bang' for Watlington who scored twice in quick succession to take a 3-2 lead. However, despite being behind the home side rallied and on the hour Craig Salmon (pictured) scored with a fine 30 yard shot to level the scores. The game was even with both sides looking likely to score but next chance fell to the home side. Richard Ingram was fouled in the penalty area but Salmon saw his spot kick well saved by the Watlington 'keeper.

Then with the time running out Slatter made a surging run passed the Watlington defence and saw his shot parried for James Cleevely to score from close range. 4-3 to the home side! No, the happy Watlington linesman then decided to flag in the 15.30 from Paddington due at nearby Charlbury Railway Station, goal disallowed, what a decision!

Still time for more drama, Ingram again pulled down, penalty, the home crowd drew breath - unfortunately Slatter shot high over the bar and the game finished.

So, the points shared, goals galore, missed chances, still better than Christmas shopping.
